1. RACE REGULATIONS:

This is an independent event and the Nomads Motorcycle Club is not affiliated to MSA or WOMZA. All riders must make themselves aware of the Race Regulations as laid down.  

2.  COURSE AND VENUE:

  1. Bases Farm Wellington

3. ELIGIBILITY OF RIDERS:

Competitors must be paid up members of their respective club.

5. COMPETITION NUMBERS:

Competition numbers for all classes will be those as issued by the NRTC.

6. RIDING GEAR:

Protective clothing must be worn by all competitors, and must include:

  1. A trials helmet
  2. Trials or enduro boots
  3. Gloves
  4. Trials or enduro riding pants

7. ENTRIES:

  1. Entries are to be done online (click here).
  2. Entries open on the 13th Aug 2018 and close on the Wednesday before the event.
  3. Telephonic entries will not be accepted.
  4. Entry fees are as follows:
    • Event fee – normal member R500.00 per day
    • Student/Scholar  R300.00 per day

Email your Proof of Payment to Mark Shearer.  If you are paying for several registrations, please include details of which riders the payment is for (names and race numbers).

9. DOCUMENTATION AND SIGN-ON:

Documentation and sign-on  will take place at the venue from 07H30 and closes at 09H30, any rider not signing on before the cut-off time will not be eligible to compete in the event.

10. SCRUTINEERING:

Scrutineering will not take place.  You are responsible for the safety of your own bike and equipment.  The organizers and any other parties are not responsible for any loss, injury or death at the event - howsoever caused.

11. RIDERS BRIEFING:

Riders briefing will take place at the venue from 09H45 to 10H00.

Final instructions, starting instructions and time allowance to be announced during riders briefing on the day of the event.

All competitors are to attend the riders briefing, and are required to be present at the beginning of the briefing (09H45).  Any competitors not being present at the beginning of the briefing will not be eligible to compete in the event.

12. START:

The start will be at 10H00 directly after the riders briefing.

13. FINISH:

The time allowance shall be given at the riders briefing. A maximum of 30 minutes penalty time will be allowed resulting in 1 penalty point per minute of penalty time.

Every competitor must sign off, failure to sign off will result in elimination from the final results.

14. COURSE:

The course shall consist of not less than 8 sections with the appropriate number of laps ridden to total not less than 40 sections ridden.

The Clerks of the Course retain the right in agreement with the Organising Committee and the Stewards to alter the number of sections and laps and the time allowance on the day. They also have the right to alter sections deemed dangerous.

Any rider interfering with the course or moving any object inside the section without the Observers or Clerk of the Course’s permission will be penalized with 5 points.

15. NUMBER BOARDS:

Numbers with a minimum of 100mm high and 10mm wide are to be affixed to the front of the motorcycle using a number board.

Number Boards to have the following backgrounds (designating the class being ridden):

  • Clubman – White
  • Intermediate – Green
  • Experts – Yellow
  • Pro Elite A – Red
  • Pro Elite B - Blue

16. RESULTS:

Results shall be announced as soon as possible after the event and shall remain provisional for a period of one hour after which they will be declared as final.

Results will be posted on the Cape Trials website.

17. AWARDS AND PRIZE GIVING:

Awards and prize giving will be held at Bases Farm after the second event.

18. MEETING POSTPONED OR CANCELLED:

The Clerk of the Course reserves the right to postpone or cancel the race meeting due to inclement weather, or Force Majeur.

19. ENVIROMENTAL CODE:

Riders are asked to be conscious of the environment:

  • All riders are to refuel their motorcycles only in the demarcated refuelling area.
  • All riders are responsible for providing their own environmental mats.
  • If riders need to work on their motorcycles, they may do so in their own designated areas, work is to be done on an environmental mat.
  • All riders are responsible for the removal of their own litter and waste products (including containers, old oils and fuel etc.)
