On the 18th of February 2018, we held the KPR Fun Trial at Zonnebloem.
The weather was cool, with a soft breeze, and started overcast but cleared up later. The piste was dry - perfect trials weather.
The sections had been set all around the lower field, which made for short, quick laps. There were only 11 riders, and although we took our time on the walk-throughs, we completed the first lap by 12, and the remaining 3 laps by 1pm.
The clubman lines had been set with a view to safety and not frightening to novices, but sadly none of the novices were able to attend, save for Byron who does not yet have a bike, so only watched.
Personally, I was happy to finish, and even happier to come third. I had washed my bike the day before and gotten water in the carb - which resulted in the engine dying at some crucial points - and costing me points. But, I was glad to be riding again and wasn't fazed.
Thanks to Krause Painting and Restoration for sponsoring this fun trial, and providing the trophies and lucky-draw prizes. Everyone left with something to remember the fantastic day. And thanks to Earl and Michael for setting a lovely course.
